This Week at Mrs. O’Leary’s… #11

You know how the saying goes, “Make plans, God laughs.”  With the ever-changing circumstances of this time we will have to be able to change our scheduling and plans weekly and sometimes daily.  Cat and Bonnie are both gone till mid-September and my availability is currently limited.  All day Monday and Tuesday last week was the time that we needed to go in and clean out my friend Carol’s art room.  As most of you know I lost my dear friend the end of February and I have her 2 doggies.  We loaded two 20-foot trailers to the roof, and it is now stuffed into our classroom.  When I can find time, I will be sorting and bagging items for sale We have started putting items out as we get them organized.  All the proceeds will go for the care of her cherished pups.  Until I can facilitate that, the classroom won’t be available for use.  We will be able to offer small classes in the middle part of the store on Carol’s “Gathering Table”.  I am continuing to work on the video classes and kits.  Several are almost ready to be released, (Crystal Crown, Glass House, Stenciled Art Bag, Jane in Chains and Crowning Moments.)  I’ve left the Crowning Moments class for later in September on the schedule hoping we can hold that as planned.  Diane Moreno is also working on some great little shrine projects using “Apple – iPhone (etc.)” boxes.  If any of you have boxes from these projects that you don’t want, we would love to turn the trash into treasures.

We will also maintain the store hours of Wednesday-Friday 10-4 and Saturday 10-5 until it is reasonable for us to be open and staffed more hours.  Many of you are working on home projects with the Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan.  Annie had her strongest month yet this July making some colors in short supply.  We are ordering paint as soon as any sold out colors are available.  If you are needing paint on one of our closed days, please call as many times we are at the store and can have it for you.  We are also happy to bring it to the curb, so you don’t have to park.  We restocked Old White this week but are still waiting on

Athenian Black and Pure that are due in late August.

We will continue the Facebook Live demonstrations as we can fit them in.   If you go to our Facebook page Mrs. O’Leary’s Art / July 30 Live video from Faron.  She did a great demonstration using Distress ink products for mixed media.  Tomorrow Saturday August 15 – 1PM CST she will be continuing the process adding in Gelatos and Pitt markers.  Don’t forget even if you aren’t available for the live feed, we have them recorded so you can go back and watch later.

Can’t believe it’s time already, but we are putting out Halloween projects and supplies.  It’s like seeing an old friend and welcoming new ones.

Bonnie’s daughter is recovering nicely after her brain surgery, Cat is having a great time in the Netherlands and she promises to come home at least for awhile and Sam welcomed a new grandson.

We at Mrs. O’Leary’s and the Public want to thank you for your support.  We are working hard to keep the doors open but it is a struggle as rent and utilities continue to mount even if we keep payroll and other expenses down.
